Dental Assistant/Dental Staff Workshop for Replace®

This course provided a comprehensive theoretical and hands-on workshop to improve overall clinical effectiveness for the surgical team. The program provided a familiarization of Replace® implants, relating to techniques, instrumentation and components. The cleaning and maintenance procedures were presented, as well as other procedures related to an effective implant treatment protocol in a busy implant office.

The afternoon workshop was dedicated to hands-on, surgical and prosthetic of the attendees' choice of system.

The day ended with a presentation by Dr. Stan Canter: "Role of the staff in building a succesful practice".

Berit Adielson, RDH, Gothenburg, Sweden

Ms. Adielson is a Registered Dental Hygienist, and was on staff in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Gothenburg School of Dentistry from 1978 to 1987. Her responsibilities included research, student training, and educational courses. In 1987, she joined Nobel Biocare (Nobelpharma) as a Teamstart Nurse and was directly responsible for implementing the comprehensive training required by new surgical teams.

Ms. Adielson has been responsible for developing numerous global training projects for Nobel Biocare to include training course development and the creation of training materials.

In her current position as Nobel Biocare Key Account Manager, Ms. Adielson continues to provide training globally on all aspects of implant dentistry.

Stanton R. Canter, DDS, Reseda, California

Dr. Canter is a 1964 graduate of the University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry and then received his specialty certificate in periodontics from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1966. Dr. Canter was an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the USC School of Dentistry from 1966 through 1976. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration.

Dr. Canter has lectured and published extensively on the subject of building and maintaining successful dental implant practices. He maintains a full time private practice limited to periodontics and dental implants in Reseda and Agoura, California.
